Pitch Evaluation

Thursday 10th January

Today I pitched my ideas for my corporate video to Lidia Zuzanne from the Chamber of Commerce. Now that I am coming to the end of the pre-production stage I am feeling pretty positive about my idea. Especially after hearing the feedback from them both, they said that they liked my proposed target audience of younger people. I now know that I am on the right track and I am confident that I will be able to provide everything I mentioned. They liked that I said I would provide the transcript for the video too meaning it can reach not only people who speak english but an international audience.

I have never been particularly good at speaking in formal situations, so pitching is always a struggle for me. I find I speak a little too quickly and don’t breathe quite as much as I should. For future presentations, I need to improve my pitching skills to avoid this problem reoccurring. I can do this by keeping calm and getting more practice doing so. Although I find public speaking challenging, it is something I need to get to grips with and developing this skill is a goal for this year. Despite my slight dissatisfaction at my performance today, I am proud that I still managed to communicate my ideas to the client and that I received positive feedback and the full attention of my audience.

When it came to the time management and planning of this unit, I feel quite happy. Time management has always been one of my strong points and this is something that will help me in future productions. I am looking forward to completing this project and seeing the finished product.
